Foras

Shapeless Entity reviewing Black Metal & Dungeon Synth

The coffee beside the parchment has long gone cold. Smoke drifts past the torches, a battered Walkman waits for the next tape, and somewhere a wax seal is cracked open. Each week one release is taken down into the hollow and written up track by track, in long chapters that Instagram hides behind a login wall. Here they are, whole.

Foras's altar: a skull on a plate of bones before the seal of Foras, between purple and red candles, with a release standing in front

The Altar

Every release that reaches the hollow is set here first: in front of the skull, under the seal of Foras, between candles that burn down over the length of a review. Choose a release to stand it on the altar.

On the stand

Photographed by Foras on the altar in the hollow. Drag the tape to turn it over.

    The Grimoire

Ten deep-dive reviews, each told across every one of its original posts in the order they were written.

      The Vault

Fifty-nine releases pulled from the collection, with the track to start on and a direct line to Bandcamp.

        The Reviewer

Outside the hollow, Foras is an artist who paints portraits of musicians past, present and future. He was an original and founding member of Nekrodeath Reviews, now laid to rest, and still writes about new and upcoming Black, Death, Doom and Ambient Metal.
